Synoptic Classification
All cases have been classified by discipline, area and suggested
assignments for students. In the printed version of the catalogue
(Fall 1993), this classification is shown in the table of pages vii to
xv inclusive. In the hypertext version, this classification can be used
to search the
database of cases, and to retrieve the abstracts for all
cases of a given classification.
The search form shows the three major categories and lists the
possible classifiers in each category.
See below for hints on selecting the classifiers on
different kinds of browsers.
The major engineering disciplines, such as Civil, Mechanical, etc.
The general area of interest, such as Public Policy, History,
Computers, etc.
The kinds of assignments that are suggested for students that are
studying the case. For example, Analysis, Design, and/or Discussion,
etc.
For each of the three major categories, you may select one or more
classifiers. When you do so, that will select cases of that class.

The classifiers are shown in scrollable list boxes. Left clicking
will select a classifier. Ctrl-left clicking allows you to select
multiple classifiers in one category.

Lynx
All classifiers are shown, with a (*) in front of the selected
classifiers. Use the 'Enter' or 'right arrow' keys to toggle a
selection.
